Traveling time from Copenhagen:

CPH - MAD 3:25 hrs.

Madrid is a city full of charm. First I took the bus along one of its biggest streets, Paseo de la Castellana. This wide street goes through the city from north to south. It passes by the Neptune Fountain, the „Cybeles Palace“ and the famous "Plaza de Castilla". On this street is also the famous „Santigo Bernabeu“ Stadium, which is the home of the Real Madrid.

All about the Paintings

Madrid is also the capital of great Museums. „Museo del Prado“ and „Casa Thyssen-Bornemisza“ are two of my favorites. At „Museo del Prado“, there are a lot of pieces from the most important Spanish Painters. These pieces include some from Francisco Goya and Diego Velázquez. As well as important pieces from the renaissance period in Europe.

The Collection at „Casa Thyssen-Bornemisza“ is one of the biggest private collections in Europe. It has pieces from Miró, Chagall and Monet among others. The house has beautiful views to the Neptune Fountain from their exposition Salons.

Plaza Mayor

El Mercado de San Miguel

Situated in the center of Madrid, only a few meters next to the Plaza Mayor, there is el Mercado de San Miguel. Here one can find a great variety of cheese and wine, a speciality of this beautiful Country.

The Architecture of this place is unique. It is an unforgettable experience to eat and drink in the center of the market. Just like in old times. Try to taste a plate with different cheeses from the region, as well as the famous "Jamón Ibérico".

Madrid is a city with a lot of architectural charm. One can enjoy the mixture between colonial architecture meeting the modern tendencies and the arts.

Hope you got inspired to visit this Spanish city !
