CPH -> AMS (Amsterdam) 1:25 hrs.
AMS -> MEX (Mexico city) 12:05 hrs.
By car or bus from Mexico City to Tequisquiapan, Queretaro: 2 hrs.
Arriving to Tequisquiapan, you can see the mountains of the Sierra Madre.
The stunning town of Tequisquiapan is situated in a geographical place which is rich in opals and quartz. These stones make the town of Tequisquiapan a magical place. The squares in town are made of cobblestone. This is a pinkish stone that gives the town a beautiful shine with the sunlight.

The Architecture
The typical architecture of the houses here uses vaults as ceilings. This gives a nice vibe to every room. Also the combination with cobblestone and clay bricks make the houses colorful.
The wine and cheese
Tequisquiapan is known for the delicious cheese that is made on the ranches nearby. The fresh cheese is the specialty. You can find it in all their presentations and with different mixtures such as herbs and chillis.

To combine the offer of cheese there’s also a couple of Vineyards in town. Two of them are open to the public with some tours around the vineyard and the winemaking process.
Freixenet
The Spanish brand produces here Rosé, Cava (Brut) sec and démi sec. You can take – as stated above - a tour around the vineyard and see the process of the winemaking.
This is a smaller production site. The wines produced here ranges from whites to reds and two different types of sparkling wine (similar to champagne).
The two vineyards participate each year in the cheese and wine fair celebrated in may. You can try wine from other vineyards from the region and cheese from the different ranches.
Besides the wine and cheese you can also visit the wonderful town of Bernal only 30 mins away by car from Tequisquiapan. Here you can find the third biggest monolith in the world. The town is very charming and if you are in for extreme sports you can go rock climbing to the „Peña“ (the monolith). Or if you want to have something less extreme you can also go for a hike on one of the sides of the Peña.
